Dove and Boweevil | Dove and Boweevil Promo Clips @ We Got The Blues by We Got The Blues |
|
Let me introduce Dove and Boweevil. They are noted as one of the best acoustic blues duos in East Anglia fronted by Lauren Dove and Mark Howes on acoustic and Dobro guitar. Some could easily argue that Norfolk could well be England's answer to the Delta where rivers and skies stretch as far as the eye can see. It is those vast and lonely landscapes that have influenced the earthy sound of Mark 'Boweevil' Howes and the soaring tones of Lauren Dove. When listening to Dove and Boweevil you hear echoes of such artists as Eric Bibb,

Devils Creek | Devils Creek Promo Clips @ We Got The Blues by We Got The Blues |
|
High octane rocking blues - A solid testament to the enduring power and influence of Blues Rock - especially the variety in which a wailing Fender Stratocaster comes front and centre. Inspired by the classic guitar-driven blues rock of the late 60's and 70's, Cornish power trio Devils Creek are keeping alive the time honoured traditions first forged by greats such as Rory Gallagher, Ten Years After and Johnny Winter. Formed in 2006, and fronted by maverick guitarist/vocalist Guy Rosewall, the band features a crack rhythm section in bassist Tim Chapple and drummer Alan Ibbotson. The band have released three albums on their own label (Top of the Hill). The 2008 debut album "Bullfrog Blues" combined a classic approach with an attack favoured by heavy rock, particularly evident in the ltra heavy bass sound not normally heard in the genre. Featuring a hard driving electric version of Rory Gallagher's "Seven Days" which would surely make the late great Irish guitarist proud, the entire offering is a solid testament to the enduring power and influence of blues inflected rock. 2010 saw the release of the bands second album "Working the Chains". The album received a good deal of airplay, including Rick Wakeman's Planet Rock show. The band's latest album "th3rds" was released in April 2011.The band has gigged solidly since 2006, and this years gigs include The Welsh International Bike Show, The Bideford Blues Festival, dates in Germany, as well as a multitude of pub/club gigs!!

With a vast repertoire of songs which would enable them to play all night long. The Blues Anoraks are influenced by many of the Blues greats who have performed to live audiences from the 1920's to date: • Sonny Boy Williamson • Muddy Waters • Howling Wolf • Buddy Guy • Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee • BB King • John Lee Hooker • Naappy Brown • Big Bill Broonzy • Blind Boy Fuller • Paul Lamb • Med Snookes • Walter Trout and many, many more!

Trouble in Mind (cover ) clip by Perry Foster @ We Got The BluesbyWe Got The Blues |
'The Old Maestro' - these are just a couple of the descriptions fellow musicians have given to Perry Foster, who brings the authentic sound of the old original country blues to every set he plays. One-time minder for Sonny Boy Williamson, with whom he played, he also backed Howling Wolf, Rev. Gary Davis, Sonny Terry and Muddy Waters, ensuring Perry Foster's place in the annals of blues history in the UK. Some of the best acoustic slide guitar in the country, together with some mean finger-picking, spine-tingling 12-string and that dark voice conjuring up the atmosphere of lonely crossroads in the Deep South, don't miss Bluesman Perry Foster! Dancing Barefeet (clip) by Hip Route Jim @ We Got The BluesbyWe Got The Blues |
In an age when singers from Hemel Hempstead are still trying to trick us into thinking that they grew up on the outskirts of Kansas City, Missouri, what we have here is total authenticity. An Englishman tipping his hat to American musical traditions but still retaining his own identity." - Dave Franklin - Greenman Music (part of a review for Not Worth The Worry album). JIm's smooth, smoky vocal is a great compliment to the lap slide he shares with us on his first solo release Album 'One Take Kitchen' - selling well. Jim performs across Swindon, Gloucestershire, The Southwest and across the UK.
